Our own map: every one of the 1,015 parcels inside the city limits from the Goodhue County parcel layer, each assigned the district it falls in on the city's 2017 zoning map (fitted to the parcels to about one metre), with the six rezonings since applied to their parcels (dashed outline). Values are the 2026 assessment. Not a legal determination; the ordinance and the city's map control.
Full zoning map page: the county's 2017 map, every rezoning since, and the district table.
The official map is the city's ArcGIS Experience at experience.arcgis.com, linked from cityofkenyon.gov/maps. Most of the original plat and the older additions are R-2; the newer plats (Whitetail Ridge, Countryside Meadow) are R-1; 2nd Street downtown is C-1; Highway 60 and the industrial park are C-2 and I-1.
Accessory buildings in every residential district: at most two, no more than 1,000 square feet combined and never larger than the house's ground floor, 14 feet tall maximum, not in the front yard, at most 30 percent of a side or rear yard, matching the house in materials, and a building permit over 200 square feet. Fences under six feet need no permit. Full text on the zoning page.
